Falcon Rocket Team

About us

We are a multidisciplinary student team at Marmara University, Istanbul. We have competed in the TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition since 2021, and every year we analyse our data and optimise our designs to build a rocket that goes beyond the last one.

Mission

To share the success and experience we gain in aerospace technologies with as many Marmara University students as possible so the culture lives on. We also aim to turn theory into practice, growing into skilled engineers who create value in Türkiye's National Technology Initiative.

Vision

To build dynamic teams of people passionate about aerospace, helping members learn, develop and apply knowledge and technology in the field. Beyond competitions, we want to give future engineers experience through trainings and technical trips.

Our values

  • 01

    Safety first

Every design review, test and launch follows strict safety procedures.

  • 02

    Learn by building

We prefer hardware on the bench over slides on a screen.

  • 03

    Open knowledge

Documentation and mentoring keep know-how in the team year after year.

  • 04

    Teamwork

A rocket only flies when every subsystem works together, and the same goes for us.

Our story

  1. 2021

We enter the TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition for the first time, competing in the mid-altitude category.

  2. 2022

We reach the mid-altitude finals and finish 35th.

  3. 2023

Finalists again in the mid-altitude category, climbing to 17th place.

We move up to the high-altitude category: 5th place and an honourable mention for Best Visual Media Sharing.

  5. 2025

We compete in high altitude with AMIRAL, a sounding rocket built for 15,000 ft, and develop SARA, our autonomous underwater rocket vehicle, for the first-ever Underwater Rocket Competition.

  6. 2026

We complete ZENIT, our new high-altitude rocket, and reach the high-altitude finals, finishing 6th.

  7. 2027
